FIRST ANNUAL BASKETBALL CLASSIC

West Montgomery Band and Sugar Hill Entertainment host, May 17 at 10 a.m. at West Montgomery High gym. Admission $3 at the door. Special guest Delyte and the Incredible DJ Polo from 102 jamz. 1st Annual Youth Triathlon

Description:
Ages 4-6 1 p.m. Swim 25 yards. Bike .78 miles. Run 210 yards.
Ages 7-9 2 p.m. Swim 50 yards. Bike 2.05 miles. Run 404 yards.
Ages 10-12 3 p.m. Swim 125 yards. Bike 3.71 miles. Run .47 miles.

Indoor swim, closed bike course and greenway trail run.

Check-in is one-hour prior to race start. All participants will receive a medal and a t-shirt.

Trophies will be awarded to the boy and girl finishing 1st in each age category. Ribbons will be presented to the boy and girl finishing 2nd and 3rd in each age category.

$20 per child/$25 per child after May 13 (Race day registration available.)


6th Annual Car and Truck Show

– May 17 from 8.a.m. – 3 p.m. Sponsored by Uwharrie Classic Cruisers and Friendly Chevrolet. Registration 8 a.m. – noon. Pre-registration $15 and $20 day of show. Proceeds benefit Hospices of Stanly and Montgomery counties.


Boating Safety Course

– Sponsored by N.C. Wildlife Commission, May 19 and 20, 6 p.m – 9 p.m. at Troy Library. Registration required. This is a six-hour personal watercraft certification course. Call 919-707-0031 to register or online at ncwildlife.org;

Athletic Conditioning for boys ages 12-15, 6-6:45 p.m., Monday/Wednesday, May 5-June 26

Athletic Conditioning for girls ages 12-15, 4:30-5:15 p.m., Tuesday/Thursday, May 5-June 26 For any kids training for fitness, recreational sports or school sports. Participants will work with certified personal trainers to improve speed, agility, vertical jump, flexibility, coordination, balance, and core strength. Great for sport season preparation and off season training. Registration required.

$50 /$70 per month – team rates also available
